Court filing fees:
The timeframe can vary. If you've been disqualified due to a court conviction, there's typically a mandatory 28-day stand-down period before you can receive a limited licence. However, we can prepare your application during this period. For suspensions due to demerit points, there is no stand-down period, but the application process itself can take time. It's recommended to begin the process as soon as possible to account for any delays. Urgent applications can be processed within 48 hours, for lodgement with Court.
The conditions are tailored to the applicant's specific circumstances, but generally include:
These conditions are strictly defined, and any deviation can result in severe penalties.
Driving outside the specified conditions is treated as driving while disqualified. Consequences can include vehicle impoundment, additional disqualification periods, substantial fines, and potential criminal convictions. It's imperative to adhere strictly to the terms set out in your limited licence.
Please don't do this!
Please don’t!! Driving while suspended is a serious offence. Police and the courts take it very seriously, even if you're driving for work.
If caught, the vehicle you're driving will be impounded for 28 days (costing around $600–$900), and you'll be arrested for driving while suspended. This is a criminal offence, not just a licence suspension. Penalties may include:
Worse still, you’ll no longer be eligible to apply for a Limited Licence, meaning you can’t legally drive at all for the duration of your sentence. That conviction must also be declared to employers, landlords, and for overseas travel for 7 years. Right now, your suspension is a civil matter. Don’t make it a criminal one.
Every driver begins with a clean slate — zero demerit points. But traffic offences like speeding, holding a phone while driving, or not wearing a seatbelt will cause you to earn demerit points.
If you rack up 100 or more active points within a 2-year period, your licence will be automatically suspended. During this suspension time, you’re not allowed to drive at all. Call us and we'll talk you through it.
